Teaching
I’m so happy that teaching has been part of my working life for more than a decade.
I spent 10 years as a Teaching Assistant at the SVA Masters in Branding Programme, founded by Debbie Millman and have continued to mentor students there for the past seven. I've spent years helping shape the curriculum for D&AD Shift New York, alongside teaching lectures and workshops and mentoring its cohorts.
I've also guest lectured at Art Center College of Design, SVA Products of Design, Miami Ad School and Shillington New York and taught practical workshops for agency teams on everything from awards and PR to case studies and client relationships.
What I Teach
I teach the practical stuff you often have to learn by doing.
I've taught students and emerging talent about branding, working with clients, presenting ideas, communication, teamwork and how the business of creativity actually works.
I also teach workshops for agency and creative teams on the things I've spent years doing in practice — from Awards 101 and PR 101 to building great case studies, telling your agency's story, credentials, reputation and new business.
I'm particularly interested in the things that don't always make it onto a curriculum: how to work with people, ask better questions, navigate clients, give and receive feedback, build trust, tell a compelling story about your work and understand the industry you're entering.
My teaching is practical, candid and conversational. I like a room where people ask questions, tell stories and leave with new knowledge and perspective.
Bring me in
I teach lectures, workshops and longer programmes.
Looking for someone to teach a workshop, guest lecture, mentor a cohort or help shape a programme?
I work with universities, creative schools, agencies and businesses to create sessions that are useful, engaging and grounded in what actually happens in the industry.
I can bring an existing session or we can build something around what your students, cohort or team needs.
Have something in mind? I'd love to hear about it.
